Fund Accountant (Asset Management)

About the Role

Our client, a leading Asset Management firm, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller / Fund Accountant to oversee financial reporting, fund accounting, regulatory compliance, treasury operations, and finance management activities.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing fund operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.

• Prepare and submit SEC Quarterly Portfolio Returns (QPR) and SEC Quarterly Financial Returns (QFR) (mandatory requirement).

• Manage fund accounting and mutual fund operations.

• Oversee budgeting, budgetary control, and performance management.

• Ensure timely regulatory and statutory reporting.

• Monitor tax compliance, remittances, and financial controls.

• Conduct daily reconciliations and maintain the integrity of accounting records.

• Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.

• Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to management.

• Supervise finance and fund operations teams.

• Develop and implement finance policies, procedures, and operational controls.

• Support product development initiatives and cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

• ACA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial Control, Fund Accounting, Asset Management, or Financial Services.

• At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

• Hands-on experience preparing SEC Quarterly Portfolio Returns (QPR) and Quarterly Financial Returns (QFR).

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory compliance.

• Experience managing mutual funds, collective investment schemes, and fund operations.

• Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
